Besides its many parks and recreation areas, Old Hickory is home to several group camp facilities such as the Boy Scouts' Camp Boxwell, Lincoya Girl Scout Camp, Fraternal Order of Police Camp for underprivileged children, the Easter Seal Camp, and Ruillman Rehabilitation Center, all of which provide outdoor experiences for thousands of young people each year.
